Dafna Bar-Sagi
NYU Langone Health, New York, USA
Dr. Dafna Bar-Sagi, is Executive Vice President and Vice Dean for Science, Chief Scientific Officer of NYU Langone Health. Prior to joining NYU Grossman School of Medicine in 2006 as chair of the Department of Biochemistry, Dr. Bar-Sagi headed the Department of Molecular Genetics and Microbiology at SUNY at Stony Brook. Between 2018 and 2021 she served as Chair of the NCI Board of Advisors. Dr. Bar-Sagi is a cancer biologist recognized for her work on pathophysiological processes that drive the initiation and progression of mutant Ras tumors. She is known particularly for her studies defining critical nodes in the pathway that couples extracellular signals to Ras activation, and for the elucidation of Ras oncogene-dependent mechanisms that enhance tumor cell fitness via immune evasion and metabolic adaptation.
